Never said that. What I
am saying is that ever since he signed his solo record deal, he's been bashing 1D's music nonstop, constantly talking about how he felt like their music was so immature and how he was just so restrained and blocked from expressing who he truly is and blah blah blah. And THEN on top of that, he takes his already extremely recognized name and decides to go with "ZAYN" because it seems like the cool thing to do. It's all about context - artists like Rihanna, Beyonce or Madonna didn't have a very vocal history of bashing the mainstream and preaching about how unique they were about to be before they released music under one name. Zayn did.
Anyways, I was just answering a question in this thread with my own theory, so feel free to call it "ridiculous" if you're that bothered by people not unanimously praising him now that he's smashing. He's about to have the #1 song on iTunes which means most people clearly don't feel the same way about him as I do, so there's really no reason to be so defensive over him.
