This might as well be her most artistic and unique album and the vocals are her finest yet
however the album as a whole piece does not deliver. After 3 years one would think Rihanna is preparing a musical masterpiece, this album is just Rihanna's attempt on making an experimental urban influenced album ala the self-titled Beyonce. Unlike Beyonce, Anti does not feel cohesive , clearly there has been a struggle in figuring out the overall sound of this album. While tracks such as Kiss It Better and Close To You highlight Rihanna's desire for timeless records others such as Woo and Work seem to burn out fast. Rihanna has created her most involved project but it feels like a mixtape and less like an album.
I've been a fan of Rihanna since she released Good Girl Gone Bad but I am just not feeling this album. She made us wait almost 4 years for her to release an album that could've been completed in less than a month. She was very considerate by making her album for free so everyone could save their coins for the album of the year, Moonlight by Ariana Grande. Note to producers: Don't ever let her release a song like Higher ever again, she sounds like a dying cat.
