Okay so.... I just finished listening to the album. I think my favorite song is 'Consideration" with SZA, although I absolutely hate SZA's voice on it. Desparado and Same 'ol are my favs too!
For me, the album is great.. just not for Rihanna. This album sounds more like a mixtape for SZA or a new r&b artist going the Jhene Aiko route. After "Same 'ole" it started to get boring.
'Love on the brain' and "Higher" sounded like songs that belonged on Tamar's previous album. Someone with an extremely high ranged voice should have been handed those songs, not Rihanna.
Her best ballad is 'CTY' because she sounds better in the lower range when she isn't straining her voice. Lol. 'Needed me', her voice started to morph into Drake's after a while.
Overall, vocally, I was expecting a bit more. It's a nice laid back album, but none of the songs are really single worthy to me. I just think Rihanna deserved to have a way bigger album than this.
