Rihanna looks great for rihleasing an album for free, Tidal gets a ton of good press for giving out the album without requiring any credit cards and they also get new potential subscribers, and Samsung gets good press and promo.
On top of all that, Tidal can then go and promote the fact that their bigger artists are releasing stuff for frih to build name recognition and build subscribers, and can use that to promote their "we support smaller artists" platform that was tarnished by their messy launch with all the big music names basically looking greedy.
