Edit: Whatever happens to Kesha's and Lukes contract is irrelevant to Katy' s contract with him. Unless, he goes to jail.

Literally woke up this morning and suddenly realized "This Is How We Do" is one of Katy's best songs and Sam / Lynx actually had some of the tea.

Can you all prove that? I thought all artists were signed before they got popular. Hence the name of a producer.
You can at least stop shading me as if you are Katy Perry's lawyer and know the details of her contract and Luke's contract with Sony. Like please, you all are just guessing too.

Perry is on Capitol, so, in order to work on her new album, Dr. Luke had to ask Doug Morris, of Sony Music, for an exemption from his deal as a Sony-only hitmaker, which Morris granted.

katy was never signed to kemosabe, i mean i don't know anything about prescription but katy's in a different position than kesha, kesha's basically a slave to luke because she's signed to his label and for 8 albums....

As crazy as her deal is, I think anyone would stick with that. I mean - eight albums!! That's a good few years' job. Weird that can't "quit" as you would any contract though.

Kind of hope Luke goes to jail just so Katy is forced to work on an album without him

Luke is over + possibly going to prison so she'll probably work with him out of sympathy

And the industry doesn't buy the records. The audience buys the records. I'm very happy I didn't take the quick money. I don't have a 360 deal and I don't have a publishing deal so I feel like I'm a rare bird. And I never really got big advances with my other record deals.
katy may be illiterate but she's very business savvy! smart queen

I liked what was here before tbh. Edit it back
It was nothing but truth anyway. Katy will probably still work with Luke on like 3 tracks

For most artists, the only entity they have a contract with is their label.
They work with producers on a song-by-song or album-by-album basis, but no one is ever signed to a producer, unless the producer owns a record label.
Katy is signed to Capitol, which is not owned by a producer.
Kesha's situation is different.
edit; however katy did have a similar situation when she was under Glen Ballard's wing.

i think kesha was really thirsty and ready to get her career so going so she took the bait. katy's had more experiences with record labels and getting dropped a few times so that probably made her wiser in terms of deals and things like that

Did I never read the entirety of this long ass interview?
This bit is about American Girl
Quote:
Perry, Kesha, Taio Cruz, and Adam Lambert, among others, appear in the video—Dr. Luke called in a lot of favors—lip-synching to McKee’s voice, a clever inversion of the usual arrangement, in which she helps them with the words.
“What’re your views at now?” Gottwald asked.
“Like, two hundred thousand.” McKee checked again on her phone.
“Did Katy tweet it?”
“Yes, she tweeted it. Kesha hasn’t tweeted it yet, though.”
“You know what?” Gottwald paused and glanced out the windows at the beach, where the shadows were growing longer. “It’s almost better if she doesn’t, and waits a couple days and does it.”
“And you know Katy has thirty million and Kesha has, like—”
“Three,” Gottwald said, and smiled somewhat sourly.

“Hey, man,” he said. It was Katy Perry’s manager, Bradford Cobb. “What’s up? Talk to me.” They discussed the idea of getting Drake, the Canadian superstar whose pop-rap sound has an easy-like-Sunday-morning appeal, to write a rap for the bridge on one of Perry’s upcoming singles. Neither was sure he would do it, but they wanted to have the track ready so that if Drake were to come into the studio he could listen to it, and record something on the spot.

Wow I always thought this was just a fan made rumour but there's some level of fact to it

“A lot of things are similar. But you don’t get sued for being similar. It needs to be the same thing. Almost doesn’t count. Close but no cigar.” On the subject of “Brave,” he told me, “I like the song! But we wrote and recorded our song months prior to that song being released. I had never heard it before.”
 didn't katy tweet about brave?
