I thought the same until TIHWD, one of the most exciting, inventive, interesting and polarizing pop songs to ever be created on the west side of the Atlantic

I don't think she's universal. She's very American/California/LosAngeles. This paragraph more accurately describes Adele.

Actually, Adele has been just as formula-driven as Perra has her entire career except she's find way more success with it. Talent really does win and make a difference.
