Its more so the level of influence executives have over someone music which with Hyokuh and all the artists listed is little to none as they do their own thing completely and agencies just distribute whatever.

This thread should be for all music from Korea imo, so there shouldn't really be debate about what gets talked about if it fits that, don't see a problem with that. (Although I don't think K-indie or indie in general is an actual genre.)

I don't think GD is indie nor is BOA as they both follow more so what their company has trained them to sound and do. There is too much outside influence on for creating hits instead of music they actually enjoy themselves with those two to be indie. The only mainstream indie artist in Korea is Dean as he isn't signed to any label but distributed by universal music korea.
