I can't at Wacklemore doing that song when he's one of the main beneficiaries of white privilege, trying too hard No matter what he does people will still hate him for being a white rapper so
"Take a Bow" is not really a classic. It was just a big hit. It's probably best known for Ross/Rachel on Friends than anything else. It's definitely not a classic outside of America.
But yes, her '80s material overshadows everything else.
Yeah.. I don't live in the US so I don't know but it was kind of huge there so I thought it would be at least remembered or known.
I think songs like Hung Up and Music are as recognizable as some of her 80s songs but people use those less nowadays.
Macklemore uses his white privilege to bring awareness to white privilege and race issues. Think of all the white boys who listen to him when Eminem is on vacation that are going to listen to it and learn something.
MESS @ him low-key dragging the Nazi with this without even knowing.

You can join the march, protest, scream and shout
Get on Twitter, hashtag and seem like you're down
But they see through it all, people believe you now
You said publicly, "Rest in peace, Mike Brown"
You speak about equality, but do you really mean it?
Are you marching for freedom, or when it's convenient?
Want people to like you,
Want to be accepted

I will say that I've heard "Take a Bow" on the radio more than most of Madonna's '90s singles. But I wouldn't call it a classic. It's not one of those songs you immediately associate with her.
"Hung Up" wasn't a radio hit here and "Music" was pretty much forgotten after its chart run ended.
