Let's get one thing straight, a music producer is the same as a film director. They can be involved in many things in the song process, from lyrics to music composition to mixing; or everything or some. The only requirements the Oscars need, is to be involved in the lyrics and/or music composition, which Diane has already made it clear Gaga composed the music.
