Drake doesn't need to be #3 on the Top Artists of the Decade. He's amassed more hits than Nelly ever did, and will have the more memorable career.
Drake is also essentially the most streamed Rap artist of all-time in US, in the Streaming age. A bigger accomplishment.
I don't disagree with you in that Drake will last longer and be overall more successful. But at this point he's not. He's been around for 6 years. Nelly had 6 huge years of success too- with album sales MUCH bigger than Drakes (adjust and Nelly would still win) and with much bigger overall hits. Drake doesn't have a Ride Wit Me (a song that still gets insane amounts of play for being 16 years old) nor has drake had hits as big as hot in here or dilemma.
Yes Drake has more urban hits bc he features on every damn song. Lol.

We already have kendrick and jcole serving quality rap albums so he needs to show them why he's the commercial one of the three and can maintain his artistry throughout
Nelly and Drake are different because while, like Nelly, Drake has the bops and smashes, unlike Nelly, people take him seriously as an artist.
Like Nelly was a T.I. and Ludacris. Somebody who yes, during a period ruled Rap, had major hits, and could sell albums, but at the end of the day... who takes them seriously.
Drake does get clowned, never said he didn't, but people take him more seriously. And he certainly won't be resorting to VH1/BET reality shows on his family in 5 years.
Drake having 10x more features just proves he is more wanted than they ever were, and seen as the industry top guy more than they ever were.
