Lol no. Performing or producing doesnt play any role. The only reason why Gaga received the Oscar nom is because she is credited as a songwriter, aka for making contributions to lyrics or melody.
A good example is my fave. She produced, sang and recorded Sooner or Later, an Academy Award winning song, but she is not the one winning the Oscar, because she was not the one writing/composing the song.
My other fave got Oscar nom for a song O Saya, because she has writing credit on it, even though she did not produce it.
