Bernie is kinda splitting the party into those that like capitalism and those that want something else, which is interesting. Also kind of annoying since he's not really a Democrat.

I hope both parties split and stay split. I can't think of another country that only has two overwhelmingly major parties. It's bad for our government.
That said, I do think Hillary's more of a moderate than Obama. The main problem is that she's painted as some extreme left politician who killed a bunch of people and [insert the Clinton "scandal" of the day] by the right. And this overwhelmingly negative image of her is pushing the moderates towards Sanders.
I personally don't like Hillary, but she's not as bad as Fox News says she is and I'd probably vote for her in the general versus any of the Republican candidates (and especially against Trump or Cruz). I do prefer Sanders more, and I think he'd be able to get more support from the moderates than Hillary due to her reputation even though Fox News will surely run with the "SANDERS IS A COMMUNIST AND WANTS TO TAKE EVERYONE'S EVERYTHING AWAY" thing which will probably happen regardless of the Democratic candidate.
