i mean, by principle i would support an indie band breaking into mainstream more than some party songs rapper every day of the week, but not when that breakout song is so bad. The production is bland, it adds nothing new to the table, and the lyrics are... probably the worst i've heard in a long, long time. I mean for god's sake. What is there to like? the way he says that he missed the good old days without really adding anything? The way he complains that he actually has to rhyme to make a song? Or is it the way he cleverly conveys the feeling of being insecure and caring what other people think, using the grandiose statement "I'm insecure and i care what you think"? Or is it him talking about selling candles to his brother? Or saying he has the same nose as his brother? The awkward album name drop? The band not knowing what to rhyme with money and ultimately choosing "bunny" which doesn't fit? The way he compared treehouses to student loans like they are equivalent? Holy **** the lyrics are bad. I listen to a lot of music with nonesensical lyrics, or even no lyrics, but when the focus on the song is on the lyrics i have to listen to them and i an't just ignore it. And they are TERRIBLE. And the worst part is that the song is basically, at least for me, saying "Hey, your life is not getting any better, so **** you". I'm somewhat young and i should be excited for the future but this song ruins that too. Congrats! So yeah, no other song i can remember made me feel so unintentionally annoyed and, honest to god, depressed, to the point where i just want to make that song disappear from the face of the earth.

You make no damn sense, you write a novel describing how terrible the lyrics are but is rooting for Flo Rida.
Also the song is filled with irony and describing how terrible mainstream music is. A simple Genius.com search would explain that to you. I honestly think you just hate this song because everyone else loves it and want to go against the grain.

Wild Ones or Good Feeling is his best single this decade. I used to prefer Wild Ones but Good Feeling has aged better.
I don't like GDFR or I Cry, but I tolerate them. Whistle is just the worst, though. I have no idea why that hit #1.

I've always liked Wild Ones better than Good Feeling. I actually like I Cry better than GF as well.

Lights is #1 worthy

I'm still bitter about it because I specifically remember Sinister campaigning against Wide Awake and Lights in favor of Whistle we got bad blood.

The difference is where the focus is. Flo Rida makes club music, and he really doesn't put any accent on the lyrics at all. We all know what he will say, "Popping these bottles, ****ing these models" etc. a good Flo Rida song (which he as at least a few of) is one where the production stands out.
Stressed Out has a terribly boring production and even from its title you can see it wants to be something more than a party song so i have no choice to listen to the lyrics, and... yeah, no.
My House is a 5/10 at best, but 5/10 is better than 0/10

#182 - ...Baby One More Time
#183 - (You Drive Me) Crazy
#184 - Cinderella
These have been side-by-side for like four days (peaking in the 50s). I genuinely wonder if one person buying these songs was enough for them to stay in the top 200 for four days

Whew. Take out the TRASH
The lyrics are clever, imo (though it's basically about feeling depressed and underachieving like every single alternative and/or rock song nowadays), the problem is that it's basically just a crappy redux of lame pop rock from the late 2000s. It sounds like an album track from The Script or one of those awful bands.

Okay buddy keep loving your Flo Rida production which he does none of. These two dudes do all they're production and writing and is closing in on a platinum album in a few months. This song will be a classic and it's clear you're in a minority as the song is setting up to be one of 2016 biggest hits. I'm sure the music you listen to is trash but whatever helps ya sleep.

then whoever does the production does a great job tbh. I never claimed Flo Rida did produce them. And again, i don't particularly like him. He ranges from good (I Cry) to terrible (Whistle).

and Gangnam Style was seen 2.5 billion times. Success doesn't mean quality, i'm sorry.

So you have no more arguments and you have to insult my music taste? Great.
I love how you never actually refuted any of my arguments related to the production, rapping or lyircs, you just said they're popular, they make their own music and my music tastes must suck for not liking indie trash.
I have nothing against TOP. Maybe their music is actually great. I don't judge bands based on one song. And i love some indie acts such as Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Vance Joy etc.
