I'm not entirely sure Disturbed or its label are entirely sure to do with TSOS. The attention it has received was entirely unexpected, and the song is VASTLY different from the material the band is famous for. Disturbed hasn't done another song like this dating back to its first album in 1999, but with the band's sustained success at Active Rock and a history at Alternative the formats
SHOULD play it anyway, and AAA should also try it out.
I wondered if the band and/or label would "rock it up" a little for adds at Rock, but David Draiman said in the interview I saw they chose to keep it musically true to the original. So I don't see a "Rock remix" coming down the pipes. The label may do otherwise though, and with "The Light" beginning to fall, it's time for the third song to go to Rock radio. I hope they choose TSOS.
TSOS has so much potential I don't want lost due to inaction or inability to properly promote this song with multi-format smash potential. However, I know Shinedown lost some Rock credibility with Second Chance, and with Disturbed being even harder than Shinedown (and TSOS being much softer than SC), the band may be facing the dilemma of looking like a sell out to some of their long-time fans.
