I would not be shocked if Saoirse somehow ended up winning, the film is the type of movie that AMPAS just seems to love, she's a past nominee, has a comeback narrative after being in a string of flops.
I also had a feeling that Saoirse would come through but not winning the GG isn't a good sign, especially because Brooklyn would appeal to the HFPA more than anyone
Let's see how the SAG goes. Brie is worthy too, but Saoirse was better imo

When I think of ROOM I mostly remember the kid. The only scenes I remember with Brie are her crying scene when she's reunited with her son outside of "Room" for the first time and when she fights with her parents. It's really not her movie.
BROOKLYN is Saoirse's movie all the way, first to last frame.
