I'm talking about the overall aesthetic of the song, not its formula. Hence my saying "something sexy and somewhat mature, but still light enough for people to bop to in the summer."

Dark Horse was a step in the right direction, as far as uptempos go. Something boppy and fresh.

Eh no, that's a very bold statement to make.

Perhaps it applies to the more dance-pop kinda artists (Madge, Gaga, Britney) but definitely not for girls like Mariah, Xtina, Bey, Adele, P!nk, Kelly, Avril etc.

Well, it all depends on what direction she wants to take for KP4. Since everyone wants that dance album, I guess she should stay away from ballads then.

Katy fits more in with the former group than the latter, so I stand by my point. She doesn't really have an amazing ballad in her current discography either.
