Black voters are the single most important voting block for Democrats because they are a generally monolithic and reliable voting block. And while there are more Hispanics by population, there are more black
voters---the political influence for Dems of the two groups is not comparable, at least not right now.
You are correct in that Sanders doesn't need all of the black vote, he just needs a decent chunk of it. But IA/NH are two of the whitest states in the country and will not substantially impact Sanders's support in a place like SC because, again, Sanders is not Obama. Even with a sweep Sanders will lose SC by at least 20 and all of that "momentum" will grind to a halt.
