I thought we were talking about acting roles? She got nominated for the music part of her career, which obviously the industry respects and acknowledges.

But her winning a Golden Globe does not mean Hollywood feels the same way towards her being an actress.

The Golden Globes do not represent Hollywood because they aren't voted on by Hollywood.

Hollywood CARES about them, which is a different thing, because it's publicity and attention for their films (and the individual actors/directors, etc).

Really I feel like people only ever acknowledge awards if it's an Oscar, Emmy, or Grammy.
