Asians don't want to be white, that's a common misconception (like Beyst having talent). They don't actually like white people mostly, Japan for example is extremely insular and they don't like ANY foreigners; Korean families will look down on their children if they date white people (happened to a friend).
They want to have light skin, which doesn't equal being white. Japanese people for example have basically the same skin tone as any European. They want pale skin because historically it meant that you didn't have to work in the fields and do physical labour and therefore had money and were upper class and could spend all day indoors where the sun wouldn't darken you. Same thing in India as far as I know.

The context is that a lot of the people writing those comments were probably dark skinned of mixed descent as well, and that there's a lot more leniency when it comes to jokes like that in the society. It's not considered as taboo and insulting as in the States. Still racist and wrong of course.
The critical acclaim for X-files started losing its steam since like the 7th season so its not surprising the reboot isn't doing well critically. I don't think anyone cares though since its for fans.
I'm going out on a limb by suggesting that most of the anti-black sentiment in Asia relates to how white-worshipping individuals are. It ties in with glamorising fair skin.
