I will never understand why former Lady Gaga stans still keep such a close eye on her and still hold such strong opinions of her. The time to move on has long come and gone. No need to repeat the same **** once a week, 52 times per year, 5 years running. We all heard it the first time.

TL;DR:
Gaga was not cool in 2009; a lot of people thought she was a man in drag.

I think what people are trying to say is that her image was much more interesting/mysterious back in 2009

By the time BTW/ARTPOP happened the shock factor from her outfits had worn off which is why she seemed much lamer/more try-hard than she did during TF/M

Let's give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar; Gaga is many things, some good, mostly bad. One of things she's good at is commanding people's attention. The flip side is that once she's got it, she does/says something stupid, and for this she will be condemned and critiqued "criticed".
