With digital single sales, artists who were extremely popular at some point from 2008 to 2013 will have very high overall
record sales - Taylor, Katy, Rihanna, etc.
It might make one question whether we should maybe count everything by album equivalent units instead, and give a different conversion rate for digital and physical singles, but hey, it's not untrue.
