I remember watching on YouTube the US BB and housemates were in during 9/11, and one of them had to be told that a member of her family was missing as a result (and if I remember correctly they did eventually turn out to be dead ) – she was actually told on camera though..

Really though? Even if she doesn't speak to their son and hasn't spoken to David in 40 years, wasn't she at a time the most important part of his life? She gave birth to their son, I would have thought she would have left to be there for him even if he decides not to get in touch or even invite her to the funeral? Plus, it seems insensitive to David's friends and family that she might talk more about David on national tv when he's just died.
