I don't feel like there's any real beef between them.
Their career paths have diverged enough that the only place where there's competition between them is ATRL.
There may not be beef, but I distinctly remember Gaga herself passive-aggressively starting a challenge with Katy on Twitter then shading Katy when she ended up trumping her. ATRL did not do that. Gaga let all her insecurity show on Twitter that year.
