Taraji was giving 2005 Whitney or Mariah teas. She was drunk as hell. I like that she referenced her past work. She has done some good stuff (far superior) to Cookie that sadly gets overlooked.
The GG are such an interesting awards body. Everyone knows that they are a huge joke, star ****ers, yet everyone always comes back and the general public thinks of it as the lesser Academy Award.
To stir things up a bit, Gaga being closest to EGOT would make her the real Cyndi, no?
Interesting indeed. The good sign for Gaga is that she's already been nominated twice for an Emmy, and I could easily see her working her way into a Tony in the not-too-distant future.

The fact that a bunch of random ass journalists got their awards show to be one of the biggest events in Hollywood for decades.

No, I think the only known instance of the Globes selling a win was with Pia Zadora and they stopped something like that from ever happening again. But this isn't local to the GG either, the Academy had Mary Pickford bribe people and host extravagant parties were she forced them to vote for her.

Mary Pickford was like on the Governer's board of the Academy or something. Her win was so ridiculous.

You can tell the BFCA is trying to become the next GG (and keep failing year after year). This Star Wars posthumous nomination, as amazing as it is for me, was by far more shameless than anything the Globes has ever done.
