What I meant by the Golden Globes being the AMAs of acting awards is that it's just a night to clamor up a bunch of Hollywood stars and award the most popular or random ones, like the AMAs. It's not about substance or who acted the best. The Globes are to the Oscars what the AMAs are to the Grammys.

C'mon man let's be real. Do you know many voters the Academy has, a lot. Many of them don't watch all the movies, many of them also pick based on buzz and name power. This has been said many times by industry insiders.
I think the nominations can be bought but I very much doubt the wins can. Even if LG sucked in AHS, she'd probably still get nominated and win. Now she is inducted into the elite there. She'll be there from now on. It generates more viewership for them. It also helped that she was good in her first acting project and they love rewarding people for their first noms, as seen tonight by half the nominees.

Other than the ugly part, none of this post makes any sense. What needed to be further explained? Her tweet is pretty clear.
But what if they all actually believe she deserved it?
We all know the "paying for awards" thing doesn't happen at shows like this (or the much more prestigious ones, since this isn't exactly a Nobel Prize). There could be ratings or other motives, but it's really entirely possible that they believed she deserved it, as crazy as that may sound to people who preferred the acting of her competition.
Acting is a much harder medium to assess and judge than others, in my opinion - it's very complex and often highly subjective.
If they actually believe she deserved it... I honestly would LOVE to know the explanation.
