Moderators can't ban guests - I don't even think Senior Mods can. Only administrators have that ability. Please be patient with moderation and posting tonight as it seems nobody who has that ability is online.
I'd advise you all to WAIT on questioning moderation decisions for now, until we can get everything sorted out. It's hard for us to work just like it's hard for you guys to browse.

Naw, once you claim the username, it's taken. So no one will be able to claim your username.

Were disabling the blogs suppose to stop the 522 error? Then why am I keep getting them?

The blogs were not disabled to prevent 522 errors - there is no correlation between that and you receiving the errors. And mods do not have the ability to stop the errors.
