Once again, you miss the point.

The lead single is the song leading up to the album release, the song that's gonna be used to promote the album. We all know the album was most likely delayed last year, FFS seemed to be the lead single at the time but it obviously isn't anymore. Just common sense and logic.

But yeah, maybe she's gonna send FFS to pop radio again in a few days and perform it on some TV shows to promote ANTI around the release??

A #1 hit can't be timeless? A commercial/radio-friendly song can't be timeless? 'Work' sounds like a pop song to you? Her next single is obviously going to be radio-friendly, that's the whole purpose of a song you send to radios. It seems that she's going back to her caribbean roots with this song and it doesn't sound generic at all, I really don't see any sign of desperation here.

New music is coming which is all that matters, the negativity can go away. Stop being fake mad.

Not desperation per say, but choosing to collaborate (especially if done after his "takeover") and then presumably releasing a Drake feature seems like a deliberate attempt to cash in on his current success and high demand. Whatever you then make of it and how you view it, is entirely up to you.

New music has been coming for a year now. Shouldn't come as a surprise it has taken a toll on ~~some~~ most of us. I don't know what anyone would gain from faking annoyance and frustration in the first place, unless it's done in an obvious attempt to get attention. I'm sure all the built-up negativity will go away once there're overwhelming reasons to be positive.

You can't be serious lol Drake has been a hot commodity for years now you act like he's a new artist who just hit the scene and is just now seeing success. Secondly, THIS record was more than likely recorded back in may when both Rih and Drake were seen in the studio together

I should've put "may seem". I don't actually think she sought after the feature, but the timing to choose to release it now would be undeniably opportune.

How? I'm sure when she reached out to Drake for the feature it was with every intention of releasing the song as a single and again, Drake is not an 'artist of the moment' the guy has been hot for years so whether or not she released the song 6 months ago, 6 months from now doesn't matter...it's Rihanna and Drake. They have 2 huge hits together already...if Work is a good song, it will be received well

Sure, I just feel as though he has even more of a presence now, especially internationally. Anyway, I guess I just see it as another easy way to discredit her, but whatever, it's not like that'd really concern me since I don't get involved in any of that.
