Only in some places is gasoline (America!) pumped for us; usually we just do it. However, throughout most of the country people bag your groceries for you and you just haul them to your car.

I believe it depends on the state and the store/chain. Here in Idaho we pump our own gas and some grocery stores the cashier pack the groceries and some you have to pack the groceries yourself.

they do. in New jersey. you can't pump your own gas. But in Maryland, where I live, I do both on the regular.

Eh, packing groceries isn't hard cause they have this thing with the plastic bags that rotates. What is it called? (In places like Walmart at least)
Damn, in the UK we have to do both of those things for ourselves. Imagine the effect on the unemployment rate if they hired people to do that here

Yeah but you guys are like x10 larger than us. I'm not saying it would fix the unemployment problem but i feel like it'd put a dent in the number of young adults not working as they're the ones who i see most in those jobs.
