Actually it would be the opposite for boxscores. Having a big WW gross is more impressive than having a local one, a single ticket in the US is equivalent to like 3 or 4 tickets here in Mexico for example. Having a bigger WW gross means more people went to see the movie & that not even counting IMAX and all those expensive movie tickets.

He's complaining about it being local.

My point is that while the majority of its success is in the Western world, it still has a higher GLOBAL total than the global box office of the films he's referencing. He's trying to claim it's somehow losing when it's not.

The only one that I was here for was when he said that it would debut with less than Jurassic World because it was DECEMBER and no movie could do those numbers. Waiting for him to post facebook likes receipts for Daisy.

Oh, got it, from a monetary standpoint it's definitely better having a local movie, way less expenses & costs.

But if you want to look at "impact" or being "global" then it's definitely more impressive to have a big international gross (you need more people watching the movie to make bank).
