If they all had that attitude the group would be completely dysfunctional, which is why they don't all have that attitude. It's like a mutual disarmament. The rest of the girls are not refraining from solo pop projects, not because they don't have the ability or the chops, but because it's not in the best interest of the group. I repeat, if they all did what Camilla did, , their schedules would irrational, they would not be able to give 100% to the group, and the group would seize to exist. It can't be one rule for Camilla and another rule for the other girls.
It's clear that you are supporting her because you are biased. You think she deserves special treatment because you think she's special. But she didn't sign up to a PCD arrangement, she signed up to a group where all members are created equal. If they are sacrificing their solo careers to make the group a success, so should she. If she doesn't want to, then she should leave.

This all reminds me of Danity Kane. After their first era, the girls were having management issues, forcing them to go on hiatus. During that hiatus, one of the members (Aubrey) started doing solo work. Understandably, they were on hiatus and unsure of the group's fate, but she continued to do solo work and sometimes acted as an individual even after they started on their second era. Then, another member (D. Woods) started doing a little solo work, too. Neither of them received any support from the other three members, and the group was divided. It also didn't help that Diddy was utilizing Dawn as a songwriter for his own material, and Aubrey felt some kind of way about that (she thought it was unfair, thought Diddy was playing favoritism, and thought him and Dawn were being shady). Point is, as you've said, if one member steps outside the group, they all will, eventually; and that only ruins the dynamic of things and makes it harder for them to be on the same page, as we are currently witnessing.

They know she has what it takes to be a star.

I don't see how they aren't getting this. Let's imagine for a moments that right now Ally, Normani, Lauren, and Dinah all had solo singles along with Camila. All of them were writing on their own or with their friends outside of the group, all of them were recording individually, all of them were shooting music videos individually, and all of them were promoting their songs all over the country. If that were the case, 5H would already be DONE. Why should Camila be allowed to do this while the other girls just smile and nod because they know if they did what she was doing the group would be over? Camila is being selfish, plain and simple. She claims to be so happy recording stuff like "I Know What You Did Last Summer," yet she still stays with 5H because she knows that if she went solo now she would flop into oblivion. She's merely using 5H to further her own goals, which may be what all of the girls are doing, but the difference is that the other four girls are putting 100% of their time and effort into the group in order to have a true breakthrough while Camila is only giving 50%. Yeah, she shows up to everything, but is she giving a 100% vocal performance in the studio after being on long flights and using her voice during live performances of her solo song? Probably not.

As if Normani wouldn't take the opportunity to jump ship if she were being handed a solo spot. Like....

These girls actually have a bond. Fifth Harmony just don't get along anymore. They may have their moments but they've said it repeatedly that they don't even hang out when they have free time. They're really vocal about it in interviews and you can just tell that they just wanna be apart in any free moment they have.

And I don't see how YOU can't see that if the girls had the chance they would take it, boo. Y'all just mad because it's Camila who got it.
You're gonna sit here and tell me that if it was Camila who got the lead role in a musical Disney film you wouldn't be mad? You would 100% support it?

I understand that, but you can't just say it was "bound to happen" like the member I was replying to implied. Little Mix were formed under the same circumstances and they just released their third album and still clearly love and respect each other. What happened/is happening to 5H wasn't "bound to happen;" they brought it upon themselves through a mutual lack of respect for each other.

This 100%.
And they keep saying "If the other girls got the opportunity they would take it in a heartbeat", when that simply isn't true because of what we've been saying continuously.....it would be a catalyst for so many issues in the group, and they know it isn't fair. I'm sure they had some discussion/agreement to hold off on solo music projects while they're in the group. They know that it causes problems if one member goes off to do something like this, and the evidence is right here with what happened after Camila did it.
As far as the bond goes, I think it's pretty clear that the other 4 get along fine.

No. I haven't even addressed the whole Disney movie thing (why are we even talking about it? Dinah didn't get it, so...), but the Moana movie is a special case because it is something near and dear to Dinah's heart as a Polynesian woman and extends beyond petty group solo project squabbles. If Camila was auditioning for a role related to her Cuban culture and heritage or something else that meant a lot to her, I would support her 100%.

I'm sure the Little Mix girls have been given opportunities to do solo projects, especially Perrie when she was engaged to Zayn, but you don't see any of them running around releasing and promoting solo singles. In fact, the girls do do some solo things, like magazine covers, but they don't let their solo ventures spill into the music industry, where they are completely committed to Little Mix and the Little Mix brand.

Exactly. And One Direction....there was a leaked Sony email where Dr Luke was asking for Harry to be featured on a GRL song/video. Yet, he declined because they said it would be bad for 1D as a band to have one member publicized on another Pop song.

I'm saying it's bound to happen because they just don't get along. The fans see it, the label probably sees it... hell, anyone with two eyes can see that these girls just don't get along. That's why I've been saying that I don't think it's wrong (of any of them) to pursue a solo endeavor, especially considering she's still shown her responsibility to the group by not missing anything.
Also, I agree with the last part + many other factors are involved which I'm sure none of us know.

Camila has stated pretty much ever since they started that she's passionate about songwriting and guitars and love and all these things that they're just not allowed to explore as a group because the label just hands them songs and they just go and sing about liking it rough. We all know that's not what Camila is about. She's passionate about this song because she wrote it, it's her sound, it came from her heart. It's something she did without any attachments from her label and she 100% expressed herself and her passion. Just like Mani did with her dancing videos.
I could pull out so many receipts of Camila saying her #1 passion is songwriting.

Ever thought why they don't get along? Because of stuff like this that Camila has done, the other 4 girls aren't happy about it.
And songwriting is fine, that's something you can explore and do on the side. Harry Styles has done it throughout the past 5 years. Releasing, filming a video and promoting/performing the song at a number of events/TV shows is different.....it's marketing and promoting yourself separately from the group to the same audience and industry, asking them to buy into you as a solo artist already. That is completely different from Normani's dancing videos.....that isn't being marketed to the music industry, it isn't being promoted and performed on national television and big radio events, and it isn't Normani marketing herself as a solo music artist.

I guess it's the whole point of this forum, though. To discuss.
But I know we're not reaching the end of this

Once again, if that's the case, why didn't she just write the song and leave it at that? If songwriting is her #1 passion, there was no need for her to be featured on the song, film a video, promote it, etc. She could have written the song, gotten her royalty checks, and began to establish herself as a songwriter, which according to you should have been enough because songwriting is her #1 passion. Had she done this, the group wouldn't be in the position they are now and she still could have been happy.

So basically Camila owns Republic, a label she isn't even on, and she chose this song as the lead single of another artists and she has booked all the shows and she's bought thousands of singles so that's why it's blowing up?
It's been said plenty of times that this song came-about as an experiment backstage at a concert. Two musicians playing with melodies and guitar riffs. Isn't that what being an artist is all about?
There are many reasons why they don't get along anymore, and if you attribute all of them to just one girl, then you have to be really biased.
If her label didn't restrain her from doing this, then I don't see the reason why she has to report back to her bandmates, cuz at the end of the day that's what they are.
If these girls had a "Little Mix" type of bond, then that would be a different case, but they've been showing their true colors for almost a year now.
