I think the main difference is that RedOne, Rob Fusari and co. ghost-wrote all her songs for her during TF/M whereas she tried writing her own songs with BTW and ARTPOP (hence why they're terrible)
I think BTW is her best work now. Some of the lyrics are crap but her lyrics have never been amazing anyway, so I don't pay attention to it lol
I never got why this site hates Born this Way (single) so much. It's great tbh. 10/10. It'll always be one of my favorite Gaga singles.
The infectious beat, the loudness in a good way, the chorus, everything was very anthemish. I'm sure this site was stanning in 2011 when it was released, before they decided it was too embarrassing afterwards.

Then there's the "we're happy for Taylor/Adele. Talent wins!" act when we all know they'd die for Gaga to have the same career. I think I liked them better in 2011 when they just openly hated everyone
