Saying Youtube isn't representative is kinda self-centered and xenophobic. It's obvious no one uses Spotify in a lot of countries, but everyone uses Spotify. So broaden our horizons a bit.
Spotify isn't always accurate either. Lean On is the most streamed song of all-time on there. Nobody telling me it was bigger than Uptown Funk, Thinking Out Loud, See You Again, or even Cheerleader.
No it is not xenophobic because nobody believes Live It Up is a bigger hit than Shut Up and Dance / Focus was bigger than Earned It because it has more views on YouTube.
YouTube views are very fishy and innacurate. Take a look at Britanny's YT numbers and Spotify numbers and there is a landslide.
Avril Lavigne has more YouTube views than Beyoncé, Britanny, Christina and she has been irrelevant for years. Also, wasn't one of her videos delated for fake views?
Plus when you click on a video, even if you don't even watch it completely, counts as a view. I think that doesn't happen on Spotify.
Spotify > YouTube and its fake views.
Wait, so The Lord's YT views probably aren't even accurate/are fake?
Shakira and Ariana's YT views prove that YT is not a valid form of representation, they are prone to spamming and falsification. Spotify and other markets, such as Apple Music, are much more valid and reliable.
She's one of the most global music stars in the world What are you saying about?
The Lord's MV views are completely accurate. Her songs are played all the time to this day, Her country songs still have a presence in country radio AirPlay. She's just universally beloved.
Focus is a great song. One of my favourite pop oriented songs from Ariana, I prefer her R&B stuff though. It's better than a lot of My Everything, at least.
Continue the line I draw
Filling the missing mark
Without you, you
I am who?
Build me up on rising tide
Lift me up and make me soar
Out of the blue, blue
I’ll be new
No it is not xenophobic because nobody believes Live It Up is a bigger hit than Shut Up and Dance / Focus was bigger than Earned It because it has more views on YouTube.
And no one believes Lean On was bigger than Uptown Funk because it has more Spotify streams. Works both ways.
