I Kissed a Girl still slays me to my very soul. The lyrics, the vocals, the beat, the production, the guitar (especially on her recent live performances), give me no mercy. Hell, even the video makes a good go at it with its hidden message. 11/10, best lead single I can think of.

Oh, and someone mentioned Ryan Tedder a few pages ago - she worked with him for Teenage Dream and created "the new Hot n Cold" and some "roller skate party" tracks, apparently was trash tho.

Dr. Luke only for first single and no more please. Half of his productions on Prism are trash (Uncle, International Smile *pukes*, Ghost). Replace him with Ryan Tedder, he's quality generic. Åhlund is great, she should work with him more.

This. Literally nothing on FLOPRISM is better than these lyrics. She used to be so quirky and fun, and now she's...that embarrassing grandmother trying to be cool.

Please, Katy, give it your all with the lyrics for KP4. That's why she's dragged. Forget vocals and pop music for a sec, she's dragged because her lyrics are so horrific. If she can't write better on her own, then hopefully the co writers and producers will be critical on her. Her career will take a huge hit if she releases another **** album. She needs to take time to perfect the songs, like she did with CYB. What, six months she said? And she turned out with arguably her most lyrically and musically mature, complex song. I know she CAN make something great, there are 3-4 tracks per album that are truly wonderful. She just needs to really commit

Really? I thought she just wanted to work with him for TD but never got around to it because their schedules clashed so much. I think I remember reading/watching an interview about it somewhere

Yeah you're right. If I remember correctly, they did start something, but it was never used. (I could be wrong on that). Not surprising, TD is a different kind of pop sound/vibe than Ryan usually does. He's usually more "real instrument" pop (don't know the best terminology to use lmao) and TD of course isnt. I'm glad, I honestly love TD just as it is

I remember that, I think Ryan or her A&R at the time mentioned how they couldn't make their schedules work.

There's no reason. Her #1 on BB200 is secured (except If she competes Taylor by the week she will be releasing ) and she can get this #1 without streaming. Will she be able to sell 200k-250k pure copies in the first week If KP4 is on Spotify by the time It gets released?

Love Me does NOT have good production. It's literally a Kesha reject (I love her) and her music always sounds dated the minute it comes out.

She needs to stop chasing success so blatantly. Say what you want about OOTB, but it has her best lyrics by far.
Pair that with some more polish + the melodies from big name producers she can now work with, and she could come out with phenomenal stuff.

She has a lot of wasted potential esp since we know what she's capable of. It's not like PRISM was her first album.
