Streaming is not accurate. There's no true way of estimating how many people have listened to the full album; nor is there any way to detect if the plays of certain tracks are due to their popularity or the fact that people are listening to the album as a whole. WDYM, Sorry, and LY would all have much lower streams if the album wasn't available for streaming.

There should be a section to 'listen to the full album' or 'listen to individual singles', because at the moment it's ridiculously inaccurate. How can the streaming of one song loads of times count towards album sales? Stupid.

It doesn't, it counts toward the album equivalent unit total of an album.

There's a separate chart for pure album sales.

Also, your post seems to be re: BB200. I thought we were talking about streaming's influence as a component of the H100.

Yeah, also it's probably the same stans playing the songs all day to keep him high on the charts or better yet all of this can be paid for just like radio spins.

In this current day and age, I still think the pure sales of an artist has, the more impressive value...it is..as compared to of the SPS/TEA etc...

Thats just my opinion even though...even obviously its not the same with the Billboard 200 anymore.

IA. I'm personally fine with TEA. Yeah it's not an actual album sale, but at least it was a motivated purchase of a track off the record. SPS needs to be axed though. It barely does much anyway, based on the formula, and it's not even being properly tracked overall.

Bieber and Abel are the only ones who benefit, whilst Taylor/Adele don't want any part of it. The day will come they revert the BB200 back, IMO.

The chart positions for the Furious soundtrack and Uptown Special were just silly. (Their runs included being on the T10 despite being #36/#39 and #31/#40 in album sales.)

It's not double counting. The modern Billboard 200 is structured as a consumption model for every album and it's individual tracks together, just as the Artist chart is partially comprised of a consumption model for the artist's entire discography. It's a hierarchical system; the Hot 100 (minus radio, since that's not consumption) is essentially a component of the Billboard 200 along with the album sales chart, which are both essentially a component of the Artist chart. The Hot 100 has its own components by extension, and preventing Hot 100 songs from contributing to the Billboard 200's totals would be comparable to preventing songs from one of the Hot 100's component charts from contributing their points to the actual Hot 100.

If people want a sales chart, they have one they can use instead; the consumption model makes more sense in the current industry and with the direction the industry is taking.

and when I write here couple days ago that Love Yourself is killing Sorry's chances for no. 1 you tell me it's not true.

Now there are three big songs for Bieber and radios won't be playing them all. They probably will start dropping Sorry and start to play Love Yourself. And that will hurt Sorry and it won't hit #1. Love Yourself will do for like 2-3 weeks from now.

And that will gave Adele 12 or 13 weeks at #1.
