People saying this isn't fair
This isn't kindergarten, it's business so there's nothing wrong with what Camila is doing. Some of the girls are so jealous.

You keep saying this as if it's some sort of certainty, but in reality, this would NOT have happened. Disney musical soundtracks are made up of the songs that are sung by characters in the movie. So unless Moana has 4 sisters/best friends who all sing together in the movie, there would have been no place for the rest of 5H on the soundtrack.

What character did Demi play in Frozen, hun?

This is the point that I NEVER understand why people don't get. People are free to think Camila is wrong, selfish, disloyal, etc., but there is a definite upside to the duet being popular IF the group doesn't let this tear them apart, which is up to all 5 of them.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" in no way sounds like a 5H song. Camila made a point of it in an interview when she said the whole singer-songwriter vibe was more her personal sound.

And did Camila's vocals just magically appear on the track? She could have simply written the song with her friend and left it at that. But she went to a studio, recorded vocals for it, filmed a video for it, has promoted, etc. She could have easily turned down any offer she received from Shawn and/or his label to lend vocals on the track. Another female artist who doesn't have group commitments could have been used, Camila still would have received her royalty checks, and it would have helped establish her as a songwriter without hurting the group dynamic.

This, especially when she's so quick to claim that songwriting is her niche. She certainly could have left it at that and allowed some other female artist to lend vocals to the song. Nothing about this is benefiting the group as a whole, clearly, no matter how much some of these fans are claiming it is.

This whole situation with the fans
hating on Camilla just goes to show
how immature their fanbase is....like chill
If Camilla did a song solo that is in the same genre and style as 5thHarmony
than yes, she's being disloyal.
But she did something she couldn't do with the girls so don't penalize her
for exploring different sides of her artistry

!!! Talking about "Oh! this is the real me! Finally I get to be myself"
It's just no use trying to reason with her supporters. They got what they wanted. The group WILL disband and she'll flourish as a solo artist. They're OVER

So now you're assuming that out of the ONE non-movie single that would be on the soundtrack, it would automatically be by 5H as opposed to a much bigger and more recognizable artist simply because one of 5H's members is voicing the title character. That's a pretty big stretch, especially if you're trying to express how undeniably certain it would be that 5H would be on the soundtrack. Plus even if they DID somehow get that one elusive mainstream single on an album full of movie songs, I personally don't think that meets the definition of them being "all over the soundtrack" as you said.

It doesn't have to sound like a 5H song - the fact that the radio industry is very aware that Camila is still part of 5H is enough to help the group as a whole make more inroads on radio. If you think that airplay is determined purely by sound and not by who knows who, I have some news for you

The don't need inroads on radio, though. They've been steadily growing on their own since "BO$$" and "Worth It" was a huge radio hit. Camila isn't doing the group any huge favors on radio with this. The only one she is doing favors for is herself, which is not the mentality you should have when you agree to be in a group.

See what happens when you make room in your back account for the ungrateful? They take advantage. Somebody better punch somebody, Farrah their ass on home, and then leak the last album 5H2 and be done with this mess.

I never said Camila was doing a "huge favour" to the group with this. You and a lot of other people seem to have this idea that if I see some sort of upside to this project, it must automatically mean I see no wrong in Camila. I think Camila was wrong to release this song and I wish she hadn't done it - there, I bolded it so you and anybody else skimming this post can see for sure. My point is that this one song which, despite the co-lead credit, is mostly considered to be a Shawn Mendes song featuring a girl from Fifth Harmony shouldn't be considered some massive permanent betrayal to the group that warrants the rest of the group to immediately cut their relationship with her and start making petty comments about wanting to pursue their own solo careers soon too. The fact that the other four girls clearly can't see the potential benefit that this song can indirectly bring to 5H means that they too care about themselves as individuals and how much attention they get, even if they're not as open about that as Camila is.
Is Camila at fault here? YES. But is she the only one at fault here? NO. If 5H breaks up over this, it will be on all five of them, not just Camila. THAT's my opinion on this, and that's the last I'm going to comment on this topic since this discussion keeps going in circles.
