I think Tinashe screwed up by trying to break out too fast. Granted, she's been doing this for like five years, but she never really cultivated a solid enough fanbase as an indie act like someone like The Weeknd did. And ultimately, her label has no idea how to market her. They can't decide to make her an alternative RnB girl or a pop girl. It's holding her back from having a defining and recognizable sound.
Not everyone can do it so effortlessly like Kehlani and be critically acclaimed and Grammy nominated before your debut album.
