I'll cosign Troye and add that sometimes it's about how it could be perceived rather than how the mod took it.

We do give reminders for some of those posts, but to flip it around - what happens when they mean something to be malicious but get a reminder, and think they can continue to get away with it?

It's just a hard thing to balance and it's very case-by-case.

Did you post a steaming link with a DL link On it without knowing? I did it too and I got WP for 6 months when last thing I wanted was to share a DL link the mods were not kind to to me and gave me 6 instead of 3 moths

I think it naturally balances itself out. In my experience, sometimes I get warned for innocuous posts, and sometimes I don't get warned for posts that may arguably be warnable. So the positive and negative ions cancel each other out. I'm sure it's that way for many members. That's why there's really no use in arguing over points that you think you don't deserve, because you were most likely let loose with a reminder or a cleared report many times before that you maybe did deserve a warning for.

Yeah, there are some accounts that exist solely to intentionally leak or spread leaks, so we had to update it as a better deterrent toward those people, and other people unfortunately get caught up in that too.
