Let's be real, of the remaining four, the only two that could sustain a solo career are Harry and Liam.
Louis will stick to behind the scenes in the industry (he's currently finding a girl band with the help of Simon Cowell) and he writes a lot with Liam too. Niall will likely do some writing - though not as much - and maybe go into sports as a manager or something. Who knows.
No one but Harry can sustain a music career within the remaining four. Liam doesn't have it in him he just will never be successful solo, I don't have any single doubt about that.
