That would explain why Scooter is credited as an Executive Producer, but not really why Justin is credited. Carly never mentioned him helping her on this project. I think he just tacked his name onto it because he knew it was going to be acclaimed.

I'm still bitter it didn't get any Grammy noms, but the Grammys haven't been credible for a while now, so it really isn't a huge deal.
