Madonna's Sorry is definitely one of the weaker songs on Confessions and kind of basic in comparison to the rest of the album. The chorus is kind of predictable and trite lyrically and the verses have a really stagnant melody.
I still haven't listened to the whole album but Justin's Sorry is definitely the best song he's released this year but that's not saying much considering the others are awful.
Gotye now reveals he's "just maybe over halfway" with the project, which he hopes "makes a connection between things from the early 20th Century - going quite far back into the history of sound and [interesting] instruments ... something that just presents them in a way that's kind of new."
He further explained:
"So that's basically what I'm doing, as cryptic as it is. I'm travelling to interesting places, collecting interesting things and trying to make music that I haven't made before."
"It's been a few years' worth of work already but it's been super-inspiring for me. It feels like I'm heading out on all these multiple connected projects. I feel like I'm just maybe over halfway through a record but we'll see. I'm still trying to work out how it all fits together."
