I don't get why they would veer away from pop though. If she feels like she needs to prove something then I'm starting to have my doubts.
At this point, no matter what she tries to prove to an urban audience they won't be won over.
It's has little to do with her content. Fancy went #1 on urban.
It has to do with a white woman dominating that genre for a period of time and it will never be received or embraced long term.
Her best bet is to go with pop and rhythmic crowds.
Maybe she's depending on streaming to make up for the lack of pop.
Hmm...I thought her team knew what they were doing but I'm still questioning things.
I have faith her team is behind it and know what they are doing.
