I was hoping there was something deeper other than just to love her bitchiness, and I'm glad it goes deeper for you than just that.

Thanks for reading. I didn't think you were arguing at all; I was glad you asked since it gave me an opportunity to finally word it (and to take back my title as the essay-writer; poor HabbGa).

i hope next season will give us:
- a strong story. hotel was a step in the right direction but it's a mess now, again.
- at LEAST trying to be scary or dark
- good and real characters that behave like normal humans would do
- no filler episodes at all, especially when it's only 12 episodes
- more lily, francis and jessica again

We've had enough Jessica for the next 3 seasons. If she returns, she can be in a Franny-sized role.
But yes, we need QUEENS Frances & Lily in leading roles next time around.

Jessica needs a Gloria sized role and that's it.
Frances and Lily deserve to be the leads at least one season.
Let's hope Hulu cancels her show so she comes back.

Exactly. And while I love Jessica, I'm tired of it being the Jessica Show. Let her take the backseat.
Meanwhile, ALSO talented actresses Frances & Lily get bit roles & die every year, and I'm SICK of it.

Next season I want it to be centered around like 2 families or something and have one with Frances as the grandma and Lily as the mom. Emma or someone new can be the daughter.

Lily's show has been cancelled, so Hulu better pull through with that cancellation so they both can be the leading ladies!
Honestly, after Asylum I was done with Jessica being the lead. Fiona was a mix of Jude and Constance and Elsa was just a mess. She needs a break as a lead, let these younger actresses (Franny too) get their chance at running the show! Ryan just needs to stop blowing compliments up Jessica's butt to get her to come back.

I don't really miss Jessica? Like, not that I don't want her to come back, but she if she comes back, she doesn't really need a leading part. Jessica pretty much played the same character, or at least the same archetype of character for four seasons. Don't get me wrong, The Countess is pretty much the same type of character again, but it's a little bit fresher having someone else doing it. Infact, I do have to praise the fact I feel like Ryan has perhaps let the actors we know and love sit back a bit this season, while still being very much a big part of the show. Sarah's only been in like 7 episodes so far? Which is different compared to being in every episode for the past three seasons.
What I'm saying is - Ryan's situation with this show is bittersweet. Sweet in the sense he can recruit new cast members all the time and always freshen up the show. Bitter in the sense a lot of AHS fans have began to become attached to certain actors, so when veterans leave like Jessica, or possibly Sarah and Evan in the future, fans seem to kick up a fuss. And he should care less about that and more about creating a great show.
I'd also like for season 6's central character to be male. The charm of the past five series has been the powerful woman being the arc of the show, but I'd be interested to see a guy take up the stance. I think if Gaga does season 6, she's not going to have such a taxing role anyway, since she should be back in full music promotions by this time next year. We'll see, I guess.

I agree with your post completely.
I think getting a high profile male in the cast would be a perfect foil for the "trying to replace Jessica Lange" narrative. There needs to be different set-ups, different character types, and the writers need to get out of this formulaic "everyone turns on the blonde HBIC" thing they've been doing for years. It's gotten to be too predictable.

Y'all can lash at me, but I'm gonna be going into the finale having absolutely NO good expectations and NO hope, because that Scream Queens finale has me BITTER.

is this the place to discuss this blind item about Gaga and Finn Wittrock having an affair?
you'd think they'd have more onscreen chemistry if it were true

I honestly ship it, but I don't want Gaga to be the other woman.

Welp, I feel like this might as well be confirmation to me as most IRL couples rarely ever have chemistry IMO.
Really though, this would be juicy. At the same time, you can't believe everything you read, so meh. That said, this does bring to mind this interview I read with that chick that played Natasha, someone asked her how the threesome scene went and she was like, "well, they've been doing it together all season," and I remember that reading as really funny/strange to me at the time.

This might be true. I remember some of the directors twitting about Bradley Buecker directing final two episodes but ep 11 is directed by Michael Uppendahl and ep 12 by Bradley Buecker
_
Which episode is this? I can't remember
