Also consider seeing what your school offers in terms of classes on sexuality (they'll be in the sociology / gender studies programs). They can be great for learning the history of the gay rights movement. And if you're lucky, they might be taught by someone who's part of the community—potentially giving you a professor you can trust and go to if you ever need to.

I never made friends in college because I was so cynical about the fact that everyone I talked to in high school basically dropped me as soon as we graduated. I was like "why bother making new friends if they'll just drop me like everyone else did?"

omg one of my bad high school friends started going to my college this semester and he tried to talk to me but i had already realized he was kind of a sucky friend, so i didn't want to talk to him at all and it was really awkward

Besides tennis I made plenty of friends in the biology department because we all have the same major and take the same classes. You can make friends that way too, with people of the same major you choose

Going to college 7 hours away really doesn't help, although I have a couple good friends out there.

I never noticed the slight racism, discrimination, and hate I got from my own friends because I wasn't like them. It was terrible. For example sometimes they only hung out with me because they wanted to seem diverse (because only Asians hung out with other Asians). Sometimes it was because they needed an extra person for a group meal discount and they ran out of Asians to ask, sometimes it was because "black people are more athletic he can win this sports match for us" etc and I always felt accepted so I never cared

Now that I think about it, horrible

that's because most high school friends really aren't that interested tbh, at least in my experience. in life outside of high school you tend to make friends that are a lot more suited for you and are more likely to seriously like and stick with you

I talk to literally nobody from high school. I'm not sad about it though. I rarely even run into people I went to HS with, which is weird. I guess everyone moved away or something
