Idk, I think it became big cuz of the previously unused markets coming into use. I never used to hear of stars doing full legs in asia and africa before. The first 150+ million grossing tour for Madead was in 2006 and she set the record for the highest grossing solo tour ever which she later more than doubled in 2008.
