Larry Kasdan actually said recently that Rian Johnson is doing some CRAZY things for the next episode, things that haven't been seen in a Star Wars film.
I'm only (like you) worried about Trevorrow at this point. While SNG is a good film, I do worry about how he handles Rey.
I almost wish the next Jurassic movie would flop and be critically panned so they'd get someone else but the timeline wouldn't match on that one.
