He has chased trends, that is the reason he is doing so well. There is nothing wrong with the boys sticking to their 'niche' audience since that same audience has helped them grossing over half a billion in tour gross in just 4 years, and the twelth highest grossing tour of all time last year. That's difficult to get. Not everyone has that.
I actually really loved WAUN and Sorry. But there's nothing 'signature' about it, it will be forgotten. Love Yourself may as well be lifted straight from an Ed Sheeran album - One Direction can be guilty of this, I'll admit - and the rest could be any DJ with some random on the chorus - apart from Sorry because that relates to his life and position in the public eye at the time, which shows quite a lot of depth considering it's him.
I'm happy for Justin but I don't think this is anything special. 2015 will be seen as Adele's year, no one else will be remembered apart from Taylor, maybe.

There's just irony in calling bieber's sound dated. That's all.
That said, I do think he chased trends the first part of his career.
I do think that bieber is finding his signature sound which is what's on purpose.
I'm not hating on 1d. they are successful and they are doing well for their niche audience.
as much as I don't see it for love yourself I do think that
Sorry, love yourself, where are you now? and a fewother songs will be remembered from this era.
I don't think what do you mean will. I think it served it's purpose though.
LOL. 2015 will be seen as the surprising comeback of Bieber and the expected and highly anticipated comeback of Adele.
