This album far exceeded my expectations and has definitely taken the top spot for my album of the year (sorry Carrie & Lowell, The Fool, and HBHBHB).

Every single track is brilliant, but the 1-2 punch of "A Pin-Light Bent" followed by "Time, As a Symptom"...

Finally got around to listening and it is amazing as expected.

So I have listened to this album and nothing else since it leaked and it is absolutely incredible, no hyperbole.
Usually when I listen to something this heavily I would be more than sick of it by now but I actually want to listen to Divers more, Jo is clearly a damn genius

This woman has done it again!

After I had listened to nothing else but DIVERS this past weekend (and liked it a lot) I kind of felt bored yesterday and listened to my whole discography on my iPod. Then, like the album did not intend to let me off the hook so easily, Waltz came on. And what can I say, it slayed me so much and I went back to the album as a whole and today I am obsessed.

The thing with artists like Newom is that they don't have the hit lead single you can hold on. Her albums are so complex and it's alẃays so much all at once that I tend to not really being able to grab onto certain songs, if you know what I mean.

But once it happens with one song, the next ones will fall like dominos. It's been the same with all her albums.

I'm loving this album very much. My previous knowledge of her work was only her debut, and I jumped right on this one and it's absolutely lovely to see her evolution on basically everything, and how she "cooked" her melodies. I'm def going back to Y's and Have One On Me after.

the space-time-universe theme going on in the lyrics is the thing that stood out for me at first. explore the lyrics is the best activity she could give to the listeners, such a substancial and intriguing songwriting.

I saw Joanna live last night and it was, as an earlier poster put it best, a religious experience. If you ever get the chance to see her, please do. I met her after the show and she was so gracious and warm and she has such a bright air about her that I could have stayed and talked with her all night.
She told us on stage that her tour outfits were made to correspond to songs on Divers, 11 dresses made each referencing a song on the album (with some cross over). She wore a beautiful dress with butterflies that referenced Anecdotes and Sapokonakin.
