Sort of but you will definitely scratch your head a few times as the film progresses. At least have a knowledge on the Original Trilogy. The OT gives you a background on what happened before TFA and some characters from the OT are now in the Sequel Trilogy. It's better if you watch the OT films first (Ep IV - VI). You can finish it in a day and the films are really good (especially Ep V).

Okay here's my thoughts on the film, spoilers obviously

I loved how fast paced the movie was, it didn't drag at parts like most films

Kylo's force powers right at the start was incredible, being able to stop a laser bolt midway through the air. He's obviously more powerful than Vader and Luke.

Rey was incredible, so good to see a powerful, inspiring female character in such a big franchise. The way she took down those thugs on Jakku to rescued BB-8 and then took Finn down as well

Then when she used the force to grab Luke's lightsaber and fight Kylo, I was like yaaaaas queen slay. The lightsaber fight was incredible, it had the perfect mixture of OT and PT in it. Although I'm confused, did she cut off Kylo's hand? Because I knew she dealt a few blows to him and when she was driving his lightsaber into the ground

Han, oh boy it was so good to see Harrison back and he was brilliant and that scene were he confronted Kylo to try and turn him back to the light to just get skewered by his lightsaber and tossed over made my gasp, despite kind of seeing it coming.

Snoke was interesting, was he really that size in real life? Or was it just because he was a hologram? What's his main purpose with Kylo, and what are the Knights of Ren?

BB-8 was the star of the film for me, he was just so hilarious in so many ways
I'm glad that Luke didn't appear until the very end, it just adds a lot more mystery to what he's been doing on that planet and how he plans on training Rey. Although I don't think Rey is his daughter.


My only problem with the film is that Captain Phasma was hardly used at all but she's appearing in episode VIII so that should give her more screen time

Overall it was a fantastic film and I'm definitely going to see it again

I've seen all of the movies (or at least 4 or 5) but not really sure about the story. I know the main characters and what not but I still wanna see it, is it confusing?

Really small, by far the most disappointing character imo. You think she'll be this badass soldier but she end up being super lame and useless to the story.

I agree completely, they were hyping her up to be this badass character wherein fact she's just used for comic relief

Just out of my second viewing, 3D this time, still so good.

I have the shortest attention span ever and am constantly on my phone during movies, but this had me completely hooked from start to finish, didn't even think about my phone. The 3D is nice, but not essential, don't go out of your way to see it in that format.

My only problems with the movie is that it has a tad too much exposition/pronouns and a bit too reminiscent of the OT, other than that it's flawless.

"The droid is on the Millennium Falcon with your father, Han Solo (in case you've forgotten your father's name)!" - "I've seen him I've seen our son, our son was just over there a minute ago doing son stuff" "I know, I felt our son too" - Just say Ben like a normal family would, dammit.

Did anyone else expect Chewbacca to rage and try to rip Kylos arms off before joining Han in the pit? Really surprised he only shot a few times before running away.
