as much as i love Circus, i think Womanizer was the ONLY first single that could have been used for her comeback. Circus is great and all but it doesn't seem good enough for a return to form for Britney. Womanizer is absolutely amazing, it's sheer delightful pop and the video SLAYS. i remember seeing it on pretty much every music channel back in 2008.

Exactly, she was about to catch up to Madonna and then Madonna vanished i.e. got away just before Britney could take her place and her successful career started falling apart
