Really? I disagree, if anything, the past year has proven that the best movies have been blockbusters. I won't be seeing TFA till tomorrow but Mad Max and Martian are better than most of these flop Oscar baits. Maybe Jurassic World but I think we knew ahead of time that wouldn't be anything special.

Reviews seem to suggest that TFA has the Star Wars charm down to a T with great characters but the storyline is very similar to the first Star Wars movie.

Granted I've barely seen anything this year, but it seems to be the current trend with blockbusters. I plan to see TFA soon and I feel sadly confident that it might be style over substance, but I really hope I'm wrong.
